We had a sheltie this happened too. We bathed her in all the things you mentioned. We finally shaved her and just had to wait it out.

@ladybee: my parent's Yorkie got sprayed. It took four months, and the entire house smelled. It will not be gone by this weekend. Vinegar worked best, it again- her face smelled for four months. Get you some candles and air freshener! The kicker is, the darn dog got sprayed again after that! So, for 8 months it was pretty bad.

@JoyfulKiwi: @Maysprout: Sadly, it's been cold and snowing here so we've limited his time outside.

That stinks! Time and airing him out, we did all the baths too and they decrease the odor but it takes a good week or so for it to become completely undetectable.

Oh no, the face is the worst! It's so hard to clean it because of trying to keep the mix out of the eyes/nose/mouth. Are his eyes okay now? You could try the peroxide mix again very carefully and then my advice is air him out. Our dog was skunked twice and it took several days each time for the smell to completely go away. He spent time outside on a long lead and also lots of walks. But even though he was stinky, he didn't contaminate anything in the house.

Our dog was sprayed by a skunk on Thursday. I panicked because his eyes were completely swollen shut. We rushed him down to the basement and washed him with a baking soda, peroxide, dawn dish soap mix. I washed him probably 15 times with that mix on Thursday. It helped but he still smelled so yesterday we did 4 tomato juice baths. Yup, his face still smells horrible.

DH won't let him out of the kitchen until the smells gone. I feel so bad for him. Any tips?
