I never did like cats but when I moved into my own place after college, I wanted a companion but couldn't imagine taking care of a dog. So I've had our cat, Andy, for 10 years, and then we adopted a dog a couple of years ago. Dogs are so needy and stinky and sheddy and slobbery. And you can't ever go away for a night without figuring out something for the dog - a big issue for us because my parents won't have the dog at their house and my MIL has her own dog that fights with ours. Lived without him for 2 years and had my LO.<br /> When I went to visit with baby in tow.. my pooch really stressed me out (he's a shedder).<br /> *sigh<br /> I feel bad for ditching him and being mean when I visit, but it's so stressful to travel with a baby! </p>
