No side effects on it or coming off. Lorelei was one when I stopped, but what I had was enough without any supplementation. She was eating regular meals and was really enjoying food. I'm not sure that I would have weaned off of the domperidone until I was pretty sure that food and just a little breastmilk would be enough. And, yes, I'm off it now. For around a year I've been off. That's awful. Do you have a compounding pharmacy near you? You can get it in the US there, but you need an RX. I'm in the U.S. and I had to order it from Canada. The pharmacy in Canada did require a prescription from my doctor. My insurance didn't cover any of it. I called around to compounding pharmacies in the U.S. but my insurance wouldn't cover it, either. It was a little pricey ($120 for 500 pills, maybe?) but not too bad. </p> <p>At one point, I was taking 20mg 3x day. Some see results after 4-6 weeks or on higher doses - Dr Jack Newman says you can go up to 160mg - but I have a heart murmur so I didn't want to risk it. Increased supply almost immediately. I didn't pump, so I don't know about pump output, but I do know when we were doing weighed feeds it was several (more than three) ounces more per feeding. I ordered from inhousepharmacy.biz (which sounds sketchy, but is legitimate). I really noticed an increase in my pumping output when I was taking it, by maybe 5 oz more per day? (3 pumps total) No side effects whatsoever except less reflux, which was the reason I took it in the first place. (Positive effects on milk were the side effect, actually.)
