She just hopped up and asked for it anyway. A few other things helped us to cut down on frequency - refusing to nurse in public and offering to kiss an ouchie instead of nursing, (this one backfired, as I honestly wasn't expecting her to TOTALLY give up comfort nursing as fast as she did). I also stopped nursing her when she was obviously just hungry and needed to eat. She was eating three good meals plus snacks a day so the nursing was simply a supplement. She eats great, but I know there are still lots of nutritional benefits through the second year (and of course beyond if you so choose). She was getting enough solids and calcium so we weren't worried about nursing for nourishment. Did any one else practice this? When did you start? What was your experience? </p>
