I have an older UB vista and my kids were almost 2.5 years apart. It was fine as a double, though the baby had to be in the top seat for the first 6 months- having the bigger kid in the front/ bottom made for a really front heavy pushing and it was very hard to turn. We lived in the city and I walked everywhere with that thing though. It was much easier once I could put the baby in the lower seat facing her big sister in the top seat. But it’s hardly a stroller I would get with the intention of putting it in the car all the time. We almost never folded t and just left it open in the garage. And I think
On hills any tandem stroller is going to start feeling really heavy. I know there were some big improvements to the new one so maybe it’s better.

Are you wanting a double that goes into your vehicle easily? Or just a double that pushes nicely for walking and different terrains? I find the mountain buggy duet very small in the seats, which is fine if you have slim kids, which I do, but I think bigger kids would be uncomfortable and I question its longevity past 3 years old. I like something with real mini tires for walks.

I am expecting twins and purchased a MB Duet. I also got carrycots and infant seat attachments. I don't know if you can fold the stroller with the infant seat attachments because I haven't tried yet, but I suspect it folds but the result is bulky. However I also think it is easy to remove them. We are going construction and I can't easily pull the stroller out for another week or so, but I can check for you then. Lmk if that would be helpful.

We live someplace urban and use the stroller a lot around our neighborhood. I have a preference for a SbS rather than a tandem, and this is the narrowest option and most likely to fit through doorways, etc. It is also one of the few double SbS strollers which can accommodate two infant seats. We park our car about five blocks away so that is critical for us.

The main downside is risk that the girls will outgrow it by 2.5 or 3. We may need something bigger at that point. But I was willing to take that tradeoff due to the other conveniences during the first few years of twin insanity.

@erinbaderin: Good to hear you like your Vista!

@Gin: I would have probably gotten the Duet if I didn't intend to use it for actual jogging. I also just like the look of the Thule so I wanted that in case my kids prefer side by side instead of tandem. I've heard the same complaints about the Vista. I in no way wanted it as a single stroller. (Hindsight is 20/20 and I should have gotten it because I'm getting it now anyways.) I hope I like it! I'm all in with all of the accessories. Interesting you didn't like the Keenz. I think it looks awseome but I'm not sure where I would use it at. I want the Veer wagon, but can't justify that purchase with the two strollers I"m getting. I like the nano you mentioned. Is it more like an umbrella stroller? I would love an umbrella stroller, but not sure where I would use one now that I have two kids who will need the stroller.

I got a britax side by side double when my daughter was born 3 years ago and my two can still ride in it very comfortably at 5 and 3. They love that thing, and it is super easy to steer.

I have the MB duet and I like it. My kids are 18mo apart and at 2.5 and 1 they still love riding in the stroller. It's not as bulky as some doubles and I don't have a problem with putting it in/ taking it out of the car. I like the side by side because I think it's easier to push and manuver, you don't have to take out the seats to fold it, and the kids can interact.

A stroller that I have been eyeing for travel is the Zoe double. It's super super light with a big basket underneath. This could be a good option is light is a priority.

@Gin: For what it’s worth I have a small two year old and a small four year old (23lbs and 29lbs respectively) and we loooove the UB Vista and I always put my older son on the lower level. We had a 2013 Vista with our first and when I got pregnant again couldn’t justify the cost of the 2015 (wanted the forward facing seat) so we bought a City Select, and immediately resold it and bought the 2015 Vista because it didn’t compare.

Not one of your top 2, but we bought the City Select when my son was born. My daughter is 16 months older. It was great for putting the car seat in but when the car seat was up top I couldn’t see my daughter. Then when they got bigger, my daughter wanted to ride on top and it got a bit top heavy. It’s great for navigating small spaces like stores and I can fit the whole thing in my Corolla, but I was less pleased in general with the front-to-back configuration then I hoped to be.

So my situation is a little different, we live on a dirt road and my DS is in the high 90th percentile for weight and height. We are keeping our singles (Cruz and Bob) and going to a Bumbleride Indie Twin.

I did consider the Duet but was worried about sizing, with your kids being smaller it may be perfect. If you search the boards there are quite a few responses to my original post about the Duet.

Good luck, I always find stroller decision making to be challenging.

@agold: I am keeping my Mountain Buggy Nano. I had a 2015 UB vista that I sold last year. I didn't like it as a single stroller. I felt like it was a little overboard for a single. I also just recently sold my Keenz stroller wagon. The MB nano has been perfect for us up till now.

I'm not a jogger/runner but I want a good push for our hilly neighborhood so thats why I am thinking the Duet?

I've read that the vista doesnt have a good push as a double since you have to put your bigger child on top? I've heard people complain about the configurations for 2 kids close together in age.

ahh. i don't want stroller regret and i totally had it with the vista and keenz.

@Gin: Hi! Are you me posting this?? I'm in the exact same situation! My second girl is due in two weeks and my two girls will be 20 months apart. Can you tell me - are you going to keep your single strollers? I am not sure if I should keep both my single strollers (jogger and regular) in case I want to use a single in a couple of years.

I thought so long and hard about the stroller situation and here's what I decided:

1. Double Thule Jogger for keeping in the garage and walks around my hilly neighborhood.
2. Uppa Baby Vista (rumble seat and kick board) for taking in the car to places like fashion island and the zoo.

I looked into the Mountain Buggy but didn't choose it because I heard it is not actually great for jogging. I always have jogging aspirations and my husband actually runs with the stroller, so I needed a legit jogger. I have a single Bob jogger and it pushes great, but folds horribly and is so very clunky and heavy. I'm hoping that the Thule double is a better double than what I expected the Bob Dualie to be. Thule double may have a lower weight limit, and my first girl is a chunker, but I pray it will work out great. Its in the mail to my house as we speak.

I also considered the City Select double. But Uppababy Vista was selected because I have the UB Cruz and I really like it a lot. I expect the Vista to be heavy, but I'm hoping I don't mind it that much for just getting in and out of the trunk of my car.

I need to buy a double stroller. I have a newborn (8wks) and a 2yo currently. My 2yo is petite- 33in, 23lbs (15% for both).

I live in the suburbs so I want a car stroller that is not too heavy and easy to get in/out of the car. I also want a 2nd stroller for walks around the neighborhood (hilly) and trips to disneyland/zoo/etc.

I've gone through previous posts and I'm still conflicted. I THINK i want a Joovy caboose ultralight for the car and a Mountain Buggy Duet. I'm also researching the Austlen and City Select.

Any regrets with the joovy or duet? Will my daughter be comfy in the Duet or will she quickly outgrow it? Does anyone have the carseat attachment for the duet and will it fold with the attachment on?
