If you can find a store to test drive them in it would be really helpful. I found the cheaper tandems very hard to push and turn. The higher end ones weren’t any more difficult than pushing a side by side. I’m very happy to have a tandem.

@yellowbeach: From what I have read, it is much easier to push/steer a SBS than a tandem. MB Duet is the same width as their single stroller and only one inch wider than the single City Mini GT we used for our son.

The tradeoff is that the seats are narrower so it's probably too small for a 3yo.

@yellowbeach: we live in a city as well and the MB goes through all doors. Just FYI. But the Lux looks great.

@yellowbeach: I’d really take a look at the either the City select lux but also try your kids in the mountain buggy duet. It is the same width as the coty select but it is going to push SO much better. But if you want a tandem the lux would be a great choice. The fabrics are great, it has a relatively compact fold, you don’t have to remove things to fold it, the basket is large. Some people complain about hand brake but I like it. It took some trial and error to find a parent console that worked (wall me sometime if you get one and I’ll fill you in on the accessories I purchased.). Also you can use bugaboo breezy canopies on it if you buy clamps and wires. (Which is awesome for summer!!). Also if by City you mean nyc I might have some cs lux stuff to sell you (nuna/cybex car seat adapter and a bassinet conversion kit in taupe)

We are in the city with lots of narrow doorways and bumpy sidewalks, so I think a side-by-side wouldn't be ideal for us. We plan to use it to walk everywhere in our neighborhood (the store, restaurants, parks, etc) and will occasionally take it in the car to a zoo/park or other afternoon outing. Not planning on hitting Target with it or anything.

I chose the MB Duet because I am expecting twins and live in a city. I want the convenience of a narrower side by side. But they may outgrow it in 2-3 years. If I had an older/younger sibling split then I might look for something else, especially since my son is pretty big for his age. He is four and we don't use the stroller for him any more anyway.

Also a lot of double strollers are not designed for twins and can only accommodate one infant car seats. I need one that can take two seats which limited my search.

I found this article to be really helpful when choosing a double stroller: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lucieslist.com/gear-guides/best-double-stroller/amp/

@justjules: yeah agree with the duet. If I had a garage (or a husband who appreciated my stroller obsession) I’d totally get the duet as well. The lux and duet would be my ideal combo. The duet is as narrow as the vista which is pretty amamzing. (We live in a city so narrowness is important).
If you have tall/large kids the indie twin is great as is the cmgt double. Both have large and tall seats. The duets seats are narrow but work just fine.

I have a 2016 city select. I love it! It’s so versatile. Right now I have it set up with my oldest in the front seat facing out and my youngest (7 months) in the back seat facing me. I don’t have any trouble pushing or navigating it.

My kids are 18mo apart. We bought the mountain buggy duet (they are now almost 1 and 2.5 so we have had it for a year). I prefer side by side for kids close in age. easier to push, and kids can interact, share toys when older etc.

I also liked the carry cot in the MB- lay flat then can be converted to the seat facing you.

I have the lux. The game changer is the bench seat. It is amazing for two kids who are spaced apart age wise. . My age gap is closer to three years though. But the Lux is so incredibly versatile. When I only have one kid with me it is great full sized single. And as a double ( I use the bench and 1 toddler seat for my 3 month old) it is great. However it does push like a bus with two kids. That’s the trade off with a tandem. Side by side is going to push a lot better.
ETA: what do you use thr stroller for? In and out of the car? Long walks? City streets? Zoo? Travel?
Cmgt double, bumbleride indie twin, bob, thule all make great sbs doublrs

I'm starting to do some research on double strollers as our DD#1 will be 21 months when LO#2 arrives in December. I'm curious if anyone has experience with the City Select double, and in particular, the 2016 model vs the newer LUX model. I watched a few good youtube videos, but was hoping for some real-world advice. Also open to exploring other brands. Thx!
