@mrsbookworm: I love the B-ready. I have a 3.5 year old and a 15 month old and we live in an urban area. We use our stroller for EVERYTHING. I like that you can fold it with both seats on (if both seats are forward facing). Both seats recline, good sunshades, you can get a double rain shield.

The top seat changes super easily from front to back facing, and the bottom seat clicks on and off very easily, so there are so many configurations. We are about to buy a buggy board and take the bottom seat off for daily use (our nanny walks both girls to drop/pick up the older one from pre-school. And that's a shorter distance, so the older one has been begging for the buggy board like she sees other kids riding on).

Because it is not as long as the City select, I find it easier to push with both girls in.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I think based on our needs and my childrens' ages, I've narrowed it down to the B-ready (narrow width and length) and the MB Duet. The B ready is 1" narrower. I feel completely crazy agonizing over one inch!

We have a Mountain Buggy Duet and it was fabulous in downtown Toronto, not so fabulous in the UK where everything is narrow. It's the narrowest side-by-side I could find but still an issue on UK pavements and in shops here. It folds easily but it's heavy, lugging it about when it is folded is horrible. I would probably opt for a single and ride-on board

I also had bad luck with the g-link. It was very clumsy and difficult to maneuver. I had high hopes bc I have loved every other uppababy stroller. Have you considered one of those sit and stand strollers? They aren't sleek but it might be a good option.

@Trailmix: ooh what a bummer!! That makes me sad! I really like our g luxe so I assumed it would be just like it. I mean, I like our Cruz more but there is t room at daycare to fold it up so we have used the crap out of the g luxe and it's still going strong! Lo1 will be almost 3 when lo2 arrives and I don't want to get a vista when we already have a cruz (planning to get a ride on board for it, but lo1 still loves a good stroller nap so I want a real double), but I'll look into the other ones you mentioned, thanks!

We have a city select and it's like driving a station wagon and impossible to get up a curb with my 35 pound 21 month old in the front.

Not great for bumps, but after this winter we are getting an macclaren side by side... Mostly we will use our Cruz with the boogie board.

Also, I currently have the MB Nano with a ride-on board for my 3.5-year-old twins and I love this set-up!! Can steer with one hand and it
folds up sooo small!

@nana87: I have the G-Link and hate it! For the amount it costs, it is not up to UB's standards at all. Super awkward, very hard to steer, and no different than the Maclaren Techno or Triumph but double the price!

I had the Kinderwagon and it's awesome but probably only would work up to about age 3. I had the City Select for 3+ years as my main stroller and it's pretty awesome. Would also suggest looking at the UB Vista Double and the MB Duet.

@ShootingStar: City Select is a great city stroller, I think. Handles really well, can store multiple bags of groceries underneath, and relatively slim
For a double stroller. We had ours in Manhattan for 3+ years, where it lived in our living room, with no complaints.

I wouldn't bother with a double for a 3.5yo.

I use a Duet as my city stroller. It's side by side but as narrow or narrower than most full size single strollers. Tandem strollers end up being sooo long and difficult to maneuver.

We use a double Bob as our country stroller and as much as I love it, it's a disaster downtown. I can fit my Duet in the front door of our 100yo house. The Bob has to stay in the car.

I also don't recommend the city select for a city, I love mine but that sounds awful! Would a city mini gt work? Awesome fold and pretty narrow by way of side by side doubles.

I soap like the idea of a single with a board and a carrier for those tricky times where the board isn't going to do the trick.

Im in NYC and considering getting the new uppababy g link-- it's basically a double g luxe. Side by side but narrower than most. We have a g luxe now and it's not as smooth as our Cruz, but definitely works well!

So, my older LO is 3 1/2. I'm not sure if I should just get a stroller with a board or an actual double. He does like to ride, currently. We're going to try to be a one car family so dh will have the car during the week to commute. It's a 20 minute walk to the international school and it's pretty rainy in Belgium!

How about the Mountain Buggy Duet? It's a side by side but supposedly the same width as a single and it has all-terrain wheels. I'm not sure how easy it is to fold though.

We're going through a similar search but don't have cobblestone to deal with, plus my two will be 3 years apart so not sure if we need a full double. For us, the lightweight/easy-to-fold aspect is more critical so I'm looking at the Joovy Caboose ultralight or possibly the UB Cruz with a board attached for my big girl.

I have a city select and often use it as a double and I would not recommend it for city living. It can be really tough to maneuver with my 3 year old on the front, and it's really long. I'm also not sure how you'd easily store it as a double. We keep ours in the trunk of my car and it takes up a lot of space. On the plus side, I really like that I can easily switch between single and double.

@skipra: The new model of the B-Ready is a little narrower, specifically the wheel base. I love the stroller but that has always been my big complaint so I'm pretty jealous of the new one.

I agree the B ready would be worth looking in to because it can fold with both seats attached.

Can you check out tandem strollers? Uppababy Vista or City Select, maybe. We have the Britax B Ready and the wheels work on uneven ground but are deceptively wide and can be a pain to get through narrow doors. I have never not fit through a door but often hit the frame with the wheels.

When we looked at double strollers (ultimately decided we didn't need one) I seriously coveted the Kinderwagon Hop. It's a front-to-back double instead of side-by-side, but it's stadium seating, so it's also not super long. According to reviews the suspension is good, it folds easily, and it's pretty lightweight for a double. The BabyGuyNYC loves it for a double, so that was the final stamp of approval or me!

Also in Europe. We don't have very many doorway problems here, but I see a lot of people with the City Select and Phil and Teds (not sure of the model) and tons of Bugaboo Donkeys. I don't think any of those are going to be easily foldable though.

We just returned from a house hunting trip in Belgium and have decided to rent an apartment in the city. However, the stroller I usually use at home is not going to work here. The doorways are too narrow for a side by side stroller and I need something with good tires because of all the cobblestones. Does anyone have a great double stroller for the city? I'd like it to fold easily for use on mass transit. Am I looking for a unicorn?😝
