I don't have twins but we bought the Britax B-Ready which can accoodate two infant car seats, or one infant car seat and one regular seat. Great thing about this model is the infant can be in front OR back - so you can do stroller seat and cart seat or car seat and rumble seat. The basket on this is super big with access on all sides (open in back with zipper panels on front and sides). Other great features are adjustable handles, easy fold, one-foot brakes, stroller seat can face both directions with adjustable recline, lower infant car seat can face both directions, adjustable foot rest, large wheels, and easy to maneuver with one hand.

I actually just saw one in the store yesterday called the Bumbleride, I think. I saw some lady with it and I really want to look more into it.

We bought the iCandy pear, (designed for twins) and are really looking forward to using it. It's really flexible- they can face me, face forward, or face each other, I can take off the seats and just use the frame with the maxi cosi infant car seats, and later on if we did go again for a third child, we could adjust the frame easily to be a one baby buggy. ( it's not a side by side).
Buggy shopping was a hard introduction to the complications of life with twins, it made my head hurt more than when I was googling wedding dresses:)

We have the City Micro Double for our nannyshare and it's great! I've never had a problem getting it through doors or aisles. If I were buying for younger babies I'd probably get the City Mini Double instead b/c it has a deeper recline.

we got the city select. we liked how you can put the car seats on it. that they weren't wide, how there are different positions you could put the kids in. and it's easy to fold. a little heavier than i'd like, but i can lift it up so.... we haven't actually used it yet though.

i have the 2011 UPPAbaby Vista and love it! best investment! http://uppababy.com/products/product.php?id=119

i bought this for several reasons:

1) comes with a bassinet (infant to 20lbs). wasn't able to use it because i bought it when LO was 6 months and was too big to use it but will definitely use it for baby #2.
2) toddler seat adjusts to 4 positions.
3) i was able to purchase the Graco adapter so if LO was asleep in the car, i can just leave him in the infant seat and click him onto the stroller frame.
4) can later purchase the rumble seat or the piggyback when you have baby #2.
5) HUGE basket!
6) extended sunshade.
7) lighter than some of the other strollers out there.

not really ideal for twins but more for 2-3 kids close in age.

@MerryC: to be honest, I've never really taken it into places! but we did use it in the mall once, and I had to hold the door for the Mom (obviously) but only one door needed to be opened to fit, from what I remember! (I'll be so embarrassed if I remember wrong. But I don't think I am, because there were only us 2, and I couldn't have held both!)

well I'm not a mom of multiples, but I nanny for a family that has a 3 y/o and a 1 y/o. their mom bought the citymini. it is awesome! they are separated, so they can't totally bug one another. I love the canopies, too. and it's super light and easy to maneuver. folded up, it takes up less space in the trunk than the one-baby chicco!

Whether your a parent of multiples or two close in age, what's your favorite double stroller? and what features do you think are the most important to look for?

We bought the double snap n go frame for when they are little, and figured we'd wait until they outgrew it to make any major decisions on a more expensive double stroller.

So far I really like the City Mini Duo 2012, since it's compact but still a side by side. But I just saw a guy with twins in the Phil and Teds Vibe Double and it's pretty slick! I worry about one baby being so low to the ground though.
