Although I don't have any experience with a double stroller (just a mama to one right now), I have heard great things about the Joovy Caboose. I currently have the Joovy Scooter & love it!

@Nycalimama: I agree with you 100% in checking the stroller out in person. You never really know what you get when you buy online sight unseen. That was our mistake with the Britax.

The real issue is that there are so many options out there and everyone has a different experience. It's like buying a car, IMO. You don't really know how it will function until you are actively using it. I would have never known my stroller is a PITA in an airport unless I used it there.

eta: I think the real reason why I am so bitter about the stroller is that Britax is the gold standard in car seats and I expected the same with the stroller. You get what you pay for!

There's nothing like going to the store and seeing your options for yourself. I have seen the B-ready in person and many moms in my neighborhood/moms group love it as a single and double stroller. It has 14! different seat configurations and 4-wheel suspension for rocky terrain.

http://www.britaxusa.com/strollers/b-ready-configurations

it's NOT lightweight, it's a "heavy" stroller as most doubles of its kind are. Stroller shopping comes down to what your needs are, so definitely see for yourself at a real store when you can.

Not really, they are both travel systems. as far as I can tell by the video on the baby gizmo youtube channel, the fold is the same, which leads me to believe it has the same limitations based on the chassis.

Anywho, a great site, if you're not already familiar with it is babygizmo. They do great videos that really showcase the features of the strollers. Highly recommend it!

well i don't think the britax b-ready and their lightweight stroller are equal comparisons. that would be like comparing apples vs oranges.

@nycalimama - Glad to help! If the company you want them to match doesn't have a physical store location (i.e. diapers.com), they will still match but you just can't use the 20% coupon. Every little bit counts when there is so much to buy! =)

@elisat thanks for writing about that tip about BuyBuyBaby and their price match program. Interesting that Britax is not on their exclusion list on their coupon. I would've never guessed. If I go w/ this stroller, I'll use your couponing skills :)

@looch i see what you mean. an all-terrain stroller does make a difference. last year with the amount of snow we got on nyc streets, i coudn't have gone anywhere without ours.

I need the airfilled for the suspension. We do a lot of walking on trails and cobblestones, so without it, the ride is not comfortable. I particularly hate the hard plastic wheels. Those get all scratched up and pitted.

@looch... i think air-filled wheels are annoying! i have a 2007 bugaboo with air-filled tires and it's so annoying when they deflate. in 2008 or 2009, bugaboo came out with foam-filled ones which get way better reviews.

We have the B-Mobile, which is a European model. It's lightweight, which is why we liked it, but it just doesn't have enough redeeming qualities for me to be able to like it.

I hope the B-Ready is better, I expected more from the stroller since Britax makes such awesome convertible car seats.

i've been looking into double/transition strollers too. i've seriously considered the Uppa Baby Vista and Phil & Teds, but my eye is on the Britax B-Ready these days.

my neighborhood is chock-FULL of double strollers everywhere, and the Baby Jogger City Select is the most common one around here. It doesn't fit my needs though as my toddler is tall and their seats don't have much room to grow for tall kids, but I'd suggest you consider it if that's not a problem for you.

if you are looking for something lightweight though, that will be tough as doubles are rarely lightweight, especially the ones mentioned above. for a side-by-side double, the City Mini double is very popular around here too.

definitely go to a real store and try out these strollers. things look so good online, but there is nothing like going to a store and checking it out yourself. also consider how much you will really use the stroller day to day and what features you will really need and which are important to you.

Ugg, my first stroller was a Britax, I hate it. The fold is clunky, it doesn't fit through an airport scanner without taking the wheels off. I also don't like the fact that mine didn't have air filled wheels.

How about the Britax B-Ready? It's got the same functions as both Phil & Teds and Uppababy, but at a lower price point. I bought it recently even though we are expecting our first little girl, but figured we'd be trying for a second in the next year or two and having a double stroller would be useful. BuyBuyBaby does price match, and allows you to stack on the 20% off coupons if the store is a real brick & mortar store. I had them match AlbeeBaby (real location in NYC) and with 20% off coupon, got the stroller for under $350!!!

I never really did my homework when it came to strollers. We got what was on special and even though I didn't love it, I didn't go out of my way to sell and buy a new one.

Now that we have another baby on the way (1 I hope) I'm thinking this might be my chance to make up on the strollers. Seeing they will only be 22 months apart (or less depending on when I will give birth) I would like to have a stroller with a double option. Maybe so that Mavi can stand while I push the little one etc.

Clearly I know squat about strollers, so I was wondering if you had any recommendations. Or good sites that I can compare strollers on.
