She was amazing and stayed with us all day, and pumped while she was there since it was so long and had her husband pick it up for her own 3 month old baby. I love her and wish I could have her again for this birth but she is going through personal issues with her own daughter and I cant ask her to be away again that long. Even though I ended up with a c-section. I was super happy I had a doula. It's just such a different and welcomed energy. I also got a birth story out of it that they sent me later. I firmly believe that without the childbirth education classes DH and I took (Bradley Method) and our doula, I would've ended up with a c-section. My L&amp;D was hard and complicated and a section was brought up several times by the OB. Having a dedicated support person is invaluable, as you never can predict how labor and delivery will go. She has offered us her services for a deeply discounted rate, and we feel pretty good about the idea of having a doula attend our birth. We're having a hospital birth, attended by midwives instead of an OB (as long as things go well).</p> <p>What were your experiences like with a doula? Would you recommend one? Anyone have any regrets? </p>
