I had a doula and I dont think I would have made it through my sons birth naturally without her. She was amazing and stayed with us all day, and pumped while she was there since it was so long and had her husband pick it up for her own 3 month old baby. I love her and wish I could have her again for this birth but she is going through personal issues with her own daughter and I cant ask her to be away again that long. It seriously was the best decision I ever made for my birth

I had a home birth with two midwives and a doula and she was worth every penny! She provided amazing support throughout my pregnancy and labor.

We had one and tbh we probably could have done without her...but there was no negative to having her there! So I say go for it :)

No regrets. Even though I ended up with a c-section. I was super happy I had a doula. It's just such a different and welcomed energy. I also got a birth story out of it that they sent me later. Loved that!

Not a single regret. I adored mine. I firmly believe that without the childbirth education classes DH and I took (Bradley Method) and our doula, I would've ended up with a c-section. My L&D was hard and complicated and a section was brought up several times by the OB. My doula was amazing.

I firmly believe that every woman and partner would benefit from a doula. Having a dedicated support person is invaluable, as you never can predict how labor and delivery will go. It was so fabulous having someone with us at all times, especially one who had attended lots of births before.

The doula who is teaching our prenatal classes is a family friend/acquaintance who we respect and admire. She has offered us her services for a deeply discounted rate, and we feel pretty good about the idea of having a doula attend our birth. We're having a hospital birth, attended by midwives instead of an OB (as long as things go well).

What were your experiences like with a doula? Would you recommend one? Anyone have any regrets?
