@gotkimchi: is there a recruiter available or do you know of anyone who might be able to recommend you for a position elsewhere?
I am sorry it's so miserable.
If I was miserable because I was bored I did other things like worked on writing a book or professional development but if I was miserable because of the people I went home and drank wine or would try to take my time getting to work when possible. My nature back then was to rush to work to do all this work but at one point I realized I didn't need to rush.

I always try to remember that my feelings re: my job come in waves. I love it! I hate it! It's the worst! It's the best!
Most of the time it has more to do with my caseload and patient population than the actual job...so I know it will eventually work itself out.

Ugh, i'm sorry. I've totally been there. I started a job and knew almost immediately it was a terrible decision, but I stuck it out a year and working on planning my next move almost the entire time.

I found that applying for other positions and interviewing, and updating my resume/portfolio/cv whatever helped to keep me positive knowing that this was just a stop onto a better thing.... Just keep searching and a new better opportunity will come along, it might just take some time. I felt like if I at least did one thing a week to get me out of the position I was in, i felt better.

Yeah, I just try to tough it out and focus on my hobbies for awhile. It also helps me to focus on planning a weekend getaway or something fun like that.

Good luck, I hope you find somewhere you like more soon!

What do you guys do when you're feeling down about your job? I like what I do, but I want to switch locations. Despite my efforts and length with the company its looking to be rather unlikely. I've applied for a few great jobs who ended up hiring internally, and all the jobs posted now don't seem like quite the right fit. So I'm just been trying to tough it out but I'm so miserable and want to cry every day
