Yea, it sounds like a nerve issue, most likely connected to your lumbar pain. I have some neuropathy in my fingers and toes that comes and goes but hasn't gotten to the point where it's bothersome enough to try any real interventions. A chiropractor would probably be a good bet, or doing sciatica relieving stretches is probably worth a try. Do you notice any difference with activity?

@travellingbee: I agree with Blackbird! Chiro if you're comfortable seeing one. I've gone in with an entire leg numb, gotten a good adjustment & walk out perfect & pain/numbness completely gone!!

@travellingbee: Yeah I'd go back to your orthopedic doctor, or a spine doctor. If you know of a good chiro or PT you could also try seeing them. Did you have any exercises or stretches from your previous bouts of back pain that helped? You could also try those to see if they change your symptoms at all.

that kind of stuff has me running to my chiro immediately. Usually there's some inflammation resting on a nerve he can adjust me for....an overly tight muscle could be culprit, too (that's usually mine). i've had tingly sensations all down my legs before and it is so uncomfortable.

I also have a chiro who doesn't think chiro fixes everything, and he's very pro western medicine, so i'd ask if he thought i should see an orthopedist, too! And he wouldn't blow smoke up my ass about chiropractic care being the sole unicorn juice i needed

Sounds like it may be paresthesias possibly coming from your low back (given your history of lumbar issues). If it continues I'd definitely go see the doctor. You'd want to address any nerve issues sooner rather than later to avoid permanent damage.

Starting last week I've had the strangest sensation. My right foot is vibrating. Well not really, because you can't feel it when you touch it. But it feels to me like there is an iphone on vibrate being held to the bottom of it. It had been on and off for the past week but since last night it has been constant. It is like a pulsing vibrating feeling. It's driving me crazy, and I don't know if I should go to the doctor. I don't want to have them start doing a whole bunch of tests just to tell me it's nothing and it'll go away on its own.
Background health information: I am 37 and in the normal range of weight. I have several back problems, including degenerative disc disease in my neck, and unexplained lumbar pain with occasional sciatica. The end of my pregnancy the sciatica was unbelievable.
I have a cold and I have been dieting (nothing extreme, just watching my calories and taking walks)
