It began in his first week right after his allergy [rash] to the hospital's laundry detergent cleared up. My only saving grace to help clear it up was applying a few drops of breastmilk on an organic cotton pad 4 times daily to the affected area. We just sort of treated it like diaper rash. Kept it clean and dried well then moisturized. No clue if it did anything but made me feel better and kept it from looking too irritated. So no idea what makes it happen for only some babies! For #3 started looking much better at 7w and is nearly gone at 2m.
