I'd go now! It can only help. Around that far along I had an OB appt a day after a terrible stomach virus. I started crying in the office because I was so worried and she was like "hey, it's going to be okay but just go get some fluids to help you feel 100% faster". It was no big deal at all and the nurses were very sweet about it. Do it!

I had HG so I was admitted to the hospital at 8 & 12 weeks. First time, I was at the OB office and told her I was throwing up for days and hardly keeping anything down. Second time, I was throwing up and at one point throwing up bile every 10 minutes. I couldn't even call the OB, DH called for me and they told me to come in. Since I had HG my nausea was a bit more severe.

I was told to go to the hospital if I had trouble keeping water down.

If I were you, I would go and get checked out. They can check your urine to see if you are dehydrated. They may give you different meds to control your nausea.

If you can't keep water down and aren't peeing much, it's time to go in.

I had an episode of vomiting during my last pregnancy. The second time I vomitted I went to the PETU but I also work in a hospital so it made it easy. Even though I only vomitted twice I had abnormal labs and enough concern for them to give me fluids. They also offered IV Zofran which I said no to initially but continued to throw up so I agreed and that was the last time I vomitted. I know it's not ideal but I would get checked out. Rather be safe than sorry especially when it come to you and LO.

Absolutely go in. I have had 2 HG pregnancies so I have a lot of experience. It's really easy to get dehydrated when pregnant, and it's super stressful on your body. I go in whenever my input doesn't match my output, when still vomiting, after a few hours. The great thing too is that they give you the fluids and some IV drugs to stop you from vomiting, and you're basically a new person!

i had a high fever and was pretty shaky at 38w4d and overall felt terrible, so my OB told me to go to L&D to get checked out. they gave me two bags of fluid because i was so dehydrated. turns out i had the flu. :( they prescribed tamiflu and i felt 90% better within 24 hours. i finished my meds 2 days before i delivered!

the fluids helped a lot! a nurse also recommended a mix of gatorade and water (like 50/50) to get electrolytes and fluids down. i went through a lot of that!

I vomited bile and my OB sent me directly to the ER for fluids. I think it's better to be safe than sorry. I really wasn't there too long. Two bags of fluids and an IV administration of zofran made a world of difference.

I don't want to give real medical advice over the internet, but feeling dizzy and not peeing are definite red flags to consider!

I wanted to suggest pedialyte to drink rather than just water. Your body will absorb the fluid much more efficiently! Hang in there, being sick while pregnant is awful.

Does your OB's office have a doctor on call that you can speak with even though the office is closed? I know it stinks to have to go to the hospital, but better safe at this point for you both. I hope you feel better soon!

I have a stomach virus and am 27 weeks. I am not keeping any food down and I am taking small sips of water like my OB said and those are staying down for a while but when I do vomit, more liquid than I remember consuming comes up. I was told that if I am still not even keeping water down by tonight I need to go to the hospital for IV fluids for both me and the baby. I am peeing a little but not a bunch which makes me wonder if some is actually getting absorbed. Enough to not need fluids?

When do I throw in the white flag and get IV fluids? I don't want to go if I don't need it but I also don't want to not go when I do and put his health (and mine) at risk.

OB is closed and the hospital won't tell me anything unless I come in. If you had to get IV fluids, how did you know when to go?
