@pinkelephant LO is 6 months. we did extra nursing sessions, but they just seemed to make him angry since nothing was coming out. He was cutting his first tooth, so the angry biting was not so much fun...

Didn't have to power pump (thank goodness!) but it finally came back to near 'normal' yesterday. Guess my body just took a bit longer than the doctor said it would.

I've switched to a neti pot to help clear my sinuses - not quite as good as sudafed, but no side effects!

Also this may not work for you since you mostly pump (I don't know the situation), but could you try to add an extra nursing session or two temporarily to boost supply?

How old is LO? I'm asking because I just had a killer sinus infection and my doctor advised I NOT take Sudafed because at my LO's age (10 months) it's harder to reestablish supply than with a younger baby. I'd already taken 3 doses (not one after the other but still) by the time she told me this though.

Fortunately (or not) for me, she's also cutting FOUR teeth at once and nursing all night long, so my supply doesn't seem to have been impacted. This makes me think power pumping could help you -good luck! :)

@MrsLonghorn: Hoping things are improving for you! Gatorade or coconut water helped my supply when it dipped. It might have just been the extra hydration, or maybe it was all in my head, but either way, those two things helped more than a lot of other things I tried.

@MrsLonghorn: I had a stomach bug last year when I was EPing, and I went from pumping about 40 oz a day in 4 pumps....down to about 15 oz.

After 3-4 days, it did start increasing, but not enough and I panicked and started More Milk Plus and Mother's milk Tea....my supply never returned to 40 oz a day, but I got it back up to 28-30 oz a day, which was enough for LO (I had frozen too, but we ended up not needing much from that).

My supply stayed steady at that amount until I weaned when LO was 13 months, so that was another 6 months of pumping just enough.

thanks so much ladies. For the first time since last weekend, my boobs feel "full" so I'm optimistic for today (just got to the office and am about to pump). If not, power pumping is on tonight's agenda and i'll start working my way through the rest of your suggestions.

Tons of water, lactation cookies, order more milk plus and do a power pump!

I've heard basil/fennel essential oil can help.

I had pneumonia and a kidney infection when lo2 was 6 months old and I was pumping like an oz but my supply did come back up.

I almost-EP (we nurse 1/day...longish story), and have very consistent over-supply of ~42oz/day. Well, I got a horrible cold last week and took ONE dose of sudafed without thinking on Saturday.

4 days later, I am still dried up and can't even produce 1/2 of normal. I'm just barely getting enough to cover LOs bottles. My OB and lactation consultant both say not to worry, that it will come back in a day or two...but it has been 4 and I'm not seeing any sign of change.

I'm on day 2 of More Milk Special Blend, and am making sure to eat/drink plenty. Any other suggestions??
