So sorry for your loss. I think any of your options are fine. She will most likely be wrapped in a blanket most of the time sleeping.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I think the navy top with white pants is totally appropriate.

I took my son to a funeral when he was a baby and he ended up wearing jeans because I didn't have anything else that was more appropriate. It was totally fine.

I wouldn't even think about it, honestly. No one will be judging a baby's outfit. Just pick the easiest thing and take the others as backup.

My first vote is the aqua dress, because it seems more formal, and like @Corduroy: said, the baby isn't in mourning.

2nd vote would be the navy top with black pants.

I think the navy is the best choice, but honestly I don't think anyone is going to judge an infant on their attire. I tend to go traditional and wear darker colors still.

I'm sorry for your loss. I picked the navy top with white pants, but since she's so little, I don't think the dress code really matters as long as she's not in just a onesie or something.

Thanks everyone. I just wasn't sure if it would look bad. We'll see what the weather is like tomorrow and go with something we have. It's nice to know I was totally overthinking things!

So sorry about your uncle.

I'd put her in the dress.. I don't think anyone would (or should) fault a newborn for not wearing black! And I think a dress fits the occasion better than the other outfits,

I would do the dress. LO went to a funeral when she was about 2 months and I wore dark colors but put her in one of her sweetest outfits which was colorful (but not loud). I think children bring a lot of needed lightness to that situation and no one expects them to be in "mourning attire." I would just be more concerned about her being dressed nicely, and I think the two pants outfits are on the informal side.

I don't think anyone is going to judge what a 7 week old is wearing, I wouldn't worry too much. I say that to make you feel more comfortable, not to make you feel bad! :-) (I know the interweb makes it hard to interpret tone).

But, if it makes you feel better to have a consensus I chose the navy top and white pants if I had to choose something!

I don't think anyone's going to think an infant is inappropriately dressed no matter what they're wearing. At 7 weeks old, I'd be tempted to do something comfy and just put her in a sleeper. I voted the polka dots, but any of your options are fine.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My daughter has attended one funeral and we just put her in the nicest weather-appropriate dress she had-- it was a dark red/maroon color, so I'd go w the aqua. Fwiw, my lo barely actually "attended" the funeral, she was too loud during the service so we played in the hallway of the synagogue and then she napped in her stroller graveside...

None of the funerals I've attended have been "everyone wear black" affairs - they have been more a celebration of life, and people wore mostly formal clothing, but not all black at all. For my grandmother's funeral, my LO wore a white and navy J&J dress and cardigan.

I don't think it will matter what an infant is wearing to a funeral. And it might be regional, but the funerals I've attended have been mostly "church attire"--not all black. Just any nice outfit.

I voted aqua dress. I also think the navy polka dot works fine. I took DD to a funeral at that age for my aunt's father. She wore a navy blue and white dress. When I dressed LO my mom pointed out to me that the baby isn't in mourning and even those very close to the deceased are happy to see baby as a symbol of life continuing.
