The biggest change for my DH was getting shirts with an athletic cut that actually fit him. The travellers pants are slightly nicer than a jean but are stretchy and comfortable and they wear REALLY well. He needed a new wardrobe. He wears his new clothes on the weekend and nights too. Nordstrom has good sales and free shipping. I really like Tecova jeans. Vineyard Vines is a favorite brand- but can be spendy- we got a ton of stuff at an outlet in Florida for a major discount (button ups and pullovers and belts). I got lots of sweaters/zip ups/button ups/cardigans from Banana Republic for good deals on clearance. For shoes- Sperrys, Cole Hahn, and LL Bean pull ons for snow. He wears slacks &amp; suits from Men’s Wearhouse and cotton slacks from BR- these items are mostly for work. Yikes. So they seem to have some good sales right now. I’d say jeans, some plain tees, a few button downs, and some plain v neck and round neck sweaters. I really like the Haggar brand flat front khaki pants for my DH for a more business casual look. They come in a variety of fits and their return policy is easy especially if you have a store you can return to. My husband did it and he has built a great wardrobe over the past two years. He looks so good now! He would get one box every few months. He was detailed about what he likes/dislikes and chose the lowest cost range.
