When my second daughter was born, a family friend sent us a big box of dress up clothes- 2 tutus, 2 dresses, 2 wings, 4 crowns. I thought sending everything in multiples of two was especially genius for future fights! I am planning to pick up some Disney costumes (frozen) after Halloween hopefully, and make an old dresser into a dress up armoire as their big Christmas present. I am excited!

My daughter loooooooves dress up- we have a fabric laundry basket with dresses, light sabers, masks, tutus, etc and basket on her cube shelf with fairy wings and crowns (stuff that could get smushed in the big bin). She really likes her princess dresses and the fairy gear. Most of her stuff has been on super sale at Target but I should check out consignment stores too!

My DD is getting into this too (3yo) and I have decided to make a dress up corner in her new big girl bedroom. I scored two princess dresses from our community page for $2/ea and a witch costume for $5 and then I got two more princess dresses from a discount store for $10/ea. She also has a Minnie mouse dress that is her costume and a paw patrol dress that isn't really a "dress up" dress but she thinks it is so i'll add that too.

MIL has a box full of DH's and SIL's old dress-up and costume clothes that she's been saving for a very long time. DD loves it and I'm sure will get years of use.

Homegoods also has some good dress-up clothes and accessories. Last year I got Disney princess dresses at Party City for $10 each around Christmas. We keep all of M's stuff in a big toy chest.

Our local consignment shops have a rack of dress up clothes year round, and tons more right around Halloween.

Check your local FB yard sale groups too.

I've also found some really cute fairy-type dresses and other dress up dresses super cheap at The Christmas Tree Shop (totally random!)

agree with @looch: after Halloween is the best time to shop!

Our dress up clothes are in 2 bins (shoes, crowns, hats, gloves, etc) and clothes are on a rack

What about looking for Halloween costumes on clearance?

We don't have any dress up stuff, my son was never into it, but I would have loved to put together a wardrobe for it. I would have gotten a jelly cabinet (they're small one door cabinets) and painted it up!

We have gotten all of ours second hand. I watch the local BST boards for them and have found some amazing Disney Princess (from Disney World and the Disney Store) dresses on Micit for $10 or under.

I know part of this is because we're coming off Halloween, but my DD has been asking for like 5 different costumes or outfits a day. The more I think about it, the more I think it would be a really fun and useful joint gift for my girls on Christmas morning to receive some kind of dress up trunk or something filled with clothes. So where do you store your dress up clothes? What's your LO's favorite dress up item? (My girls are 3 and 1.5)
