I was in the drink til it's pink camp. We TTC for 8 months and there were many times where I wondered "should I drink?" while we were on vacation or at some special event. Basically, I didn't get drunk during the TWW but certainly consumed wine and beer in moderation. My husband is a doc and approved of the plan ; )

Good luck and happy new years!

From what I understand you don't actually share a blood supply with the embryo at that point. I know different people have varying comfort levels, but I was in the "drink til it's pink" camp. I enjoyed a glass of wine with dinner each night until the day i got my positive test.

I asked my ob what meds to stay away from during the 2 week wait and she said go on with normal life and take what I normally would. I'm sure that applies to alcohol too.

I say enjoy the wine, but don't get drunk.
If you end up not pregnant and missed out on the special event you will be more upset. It could be a nice memorable 'last glass'.
But if you drink too much you might feel badly if you do end up positive.

Happy New YEars.

I think you would be fine. I don't believe at 7-8 DPO that you're sharing that much of a blood supply with them anyway, if you were pregnant. They also say that red wine can help with implantation - just another reason to have a glass ;)

So I'd been planning to share a bottle of red wine with my husband for New Year's (Sangue di Giuda - it's gorgeous stuff). But I'm having some mild cramping today (5DPO), which may be implantation (I'm not exactly excited, because I don't want to jinx it by BEING excited.) I'd only be having a cup at midnight on New Years (on a full stomach) and a cup the next day with dinner. What would you do?

ETA: I'm one of those who has no problem with drinking some caffeine and drinking in the pre-implantation stage. Between implantation and a BFP, though, is kind of a gray area for me.
