@sorrycharlie: Looks like a cheap hose with a ton of great reviews- I would buy it for that reason alone :) We have a 100ft. Does the same one come in double the size? Moving it around would be annoying.

@birdofafeather: That's a good point! We do get a ton of snow, or at the very least freezing weather - we had winter weather into April this year. Ugh. I haven't even checked where the spigots are located - they very well could be in the sun all day.

Something else I was thinking, is whether or not 50' is even long enough, haha. I would probably need one for front and back unless I wanted to unhook it and drag it back and forth every time?

Such a novice at this. It's embarrassing.

@sorrycharlie: i get your reasoning behind it, so i don't think it's crazy, but will that kind of hose hold up to the elements? i'm thinking of FIL's hose similar to that for his toy hauler and i don't think it would last against the rain and sun? and you get a lot of snow, so at that point, you'd probably unplug the thing and store it, right? so my concern would be having to buy a new one more often.

we just bought a house.
we need to buy a hose.
why not buy a hose that's made with parts that are safe, if possible. has anyone else done this.

the end! :)

@sorrycharlie: Yeah, I totally thought you meant you'd keep a separate hose for the kids to drink out of. Like, you're washing the car, the kids want a drink, so you quick switch out the hose. I was like, woah, so not worth the money or the effort!

It seems like the same cost as a standard hose, and we are starting from scratch and need to buy one anyway.. So I don't think it's that crazy :P It's not like it's a $100 hose.

We use just a regular hose. He may ingest a little water, but it's not a big deal It's not like the hose has a filter on it. So if your pipes have lead, this isn't going to do anything for you.
