We drink wine before dinner (neither of us likes beer enough to buy it). We get home from work and have some wine while watching the news then cook and have dinner. I like having one though at the end of the day though when everything's done and we just take a calm time to relax. My DH family is french and we pretty much only have it when some sort of food is out when we visit them, but meal times can go on for quite awhile. I'm not sure if it's any healthier, our consumption is usually higher there. My FIL is more flexible though so when he visited us by himself I think his favorite time of day became after kids go to bed, sit on the porch and have some wine time. I am awful at this. I prefer to drink wine after dinner, ideally with a little cheese and cured meats... but I'm fine if it's just wine too. Been trying to change my ways, but it's been hard! I met a German the other day that said that in his country, many people drink a beer with every meal - but that it's not as common to drink beer without food. Do you drink your wine/beer with food, or without food?
