@Foodnerd81: it's not that DD drools. She rides along with her mouth open and resting on the strap, tongue out  It's nice to be able to toss them in the wash regularly and to keep the carrier itself looking nice since it was an investment I hope to use for multiple kiddos.

@Foodnerd81: I bought these ones. A little cheaper than the Beco brand ones and they fit fine. I wouldn't call it a necessity. My son drools and would suck and chew on the straps so it's nice to just wash the pads and not the whole carrier. Maybe wait to see how much of a drooler your LO is.

@rattles: @mrskc: So you both have the Beco drool pads for the straps and think they are worth it? I got the carrier at my shower but shockingly, no one decided to pay $20 for the drool pads, so I was tryign to decide whether or not to buy them.

@mrskc: @cmomma17: Good thought! I can also try a burp cloth like @rattles: suggested.

Thanks ladies!

I have drool pads for the straps and I keep a bib on him that I drape over the carrier.

I don't wear dd facing out too often, but we've had the same problem when I do. Now I tuck a burp cloth inbetween her and the Gemini and fold it over the top and tuck it under the snapped-down sleep hood. I have the drool pads on the straps for the other carries. I thought they were overpriced at first, but they've been totally worth it.

I was trying to get Em's bottles washed this morning so I popped her in my Beco Gemini, outward facing, for thirty minutes while I did some dishes after finishing her bottles. I get done with one load, get her out of the carrier long enough to put H down for his morning nap but when I go to put her back in the carrier, I noticed something. The front flap is soaked - and I mean soaked - from her drool. A few hours later and the drool soaked Beco Gemini still isn't dry.

Suggestions for soaking up drool while baby wearing or drying drool faster then air drying?
