@winniebee, @2peasinapod: thank you! I'll give the aquaphor a try. Glad to know she's not the only one sleeping in her own spit :)

@MrsF: We're actually going through this phase right now, and we put Aquaphor on his face at night and for naps as well. He takes a binky to sleep, and depending on how much he moves around in the night he may or may not keep it in which sometimes makes it worse! We've also started using the Air Mam pacifiers too.

@MrsF: it just passed once he got passed this super drooly phase, which was brief. I did put aquaphor on it before naps and at night to help with it though!

@winniebee: (or anyone else, of course!) I'm searching the boards for advice on M's rash and this is exactly our problem. She looks horrible when she wakes up and it gets a little better but then flares up the next time she's sleeping in her drool. Seeing as your post was 7 months ago I thought you might have some wisdom as to what helped your LO!

Do we think aquaphor on the face is OK at night?

We use balmex (but i guess any diaper rash cream would work) under her neck and no rash! We've also used aquaphor and it works too...it just depends on what we get our hands on first!

C had drool rash in her neck folds when she started teething. I would put lotion all over her neck (we used Burts Bees) before bedtime and it REALLY helped reduce it.

@Mrsbells: I think it was because he woke up a lot last night and when he wakes up he moves his head back and forth, etc So I think it was a combo of the drool and face rubbing on his sheets?

Same as @Rubies: we put aquaphor on his chin where he gets his drool rash.

My LO had this, too. I would just smear Vaseline on her face to help block out the moisture. But really, there wasn't much I could do.

My 5 month old drools a LOT. And now he sleeps on his belly - his crib gets soaked from the drool. This morning he woke up with a rash all over his face. A few hours later it was gone. I'm assuming it was a drool rash? How do I prevent/help it in the future?
