Her saliva discolored the straps over time- because I almost never washed it. So I started putting baby legs over the straps after that but the damage was done. He's a drool machine and I can't be throwing my carrier in the wash constantly...takes too long to dry! You can get cheaper ones on Etsy. There are lots of shops that sell for around $15. I just threw my carrier (Ergo) in the wash and called it a day.
