@808love: it went as expected. She did well the first day, was happy but wouldn't nap. The second day she had a rough morning (but DH had to wake her up early to get her to daycare, plus no nap the previous day.) so I'm guessing she was just overtired. Took a good nap and had a better afternoon. I think she did pretty well for having never been around other babies and not knowing any of the care takers. I think it was harder on me than it was on her.

We don't do drop-in daycare but daily daycare. Our center provides a sheet each day that lists all the times LO eats and gets changed as well as what each change consisted of (wet/BM). They usually also make a note about something that LO did or particularly enjoyed during the day. Hopefully you'll get something like that (makes up for DH not asking the questions you would have had you done pick-up).

Yes when our regular baby sitter has been sick we have dropped him in twice. He has done great. He was close to a year.

Lmk how it goes. We have sent LO to a regular babysitter 1 day (5 hours) a week since 6 months old. So now we need a backup drop in care at the local preschool for when our sitter can't do it. Until now, we used vacation days but we got a good deal and will do the drop in....still gotta go and sign up though.

We haven't needed it, luckily we have both sets of grandparents near by. Hope your LO does well and loves it!

LOs going to daycare for two days next week. I am going out of town to work for my parents and since DH works during the day LO will be attending daycare. I hate being away from her but I am excited to see how she does. She has never been around other babies I think she will like it. but I am so nervous! I wish I could pick her up so I could ask how everything went, DH will be doing that and I don't think he will really ask questions.

Have you ever done drop in daycare?
