@singingbee: I read an article (that I can't find now) that talked about how each woman has a specific number that they need to nurse/pump in order to maintain their supply. It's possible you were at that magic number and when your LO started STTN, you may need to add a pumping session to make up the difference. But it also could just be the combo of the dropped session and AF. Hopefully a couple power pumping sessions is all the boost you need! Good luck!

@singingbee: I totally understand. I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as your nursing and pumping you should be fine, I'm sure of it :)

@junebugmama: ok! That's good to hear. I'm not ready to wean just yet. We've made it through little goals, with today being the biggest one we had--lo is 6 months old! I just don't like the decision being taken away from me, you know? I want some say as to when we will wean.

@singingbee: STTN with the combo of af is probably what's making the drop. If you power pump a bit for the next few days, you will probably be able to pull it back up.

@Adira: it was just a couple of nights ago. Thinking on it, I think I just may be stressed and that's the drop, but it freaked me put! I'll try some power pumping and see if I can add in another one.

When did your LO start STTN? It's possible that by missing those MOTN sessions, your body is starting to produce less milk.

When Xander dropped his night nursing session (it was actually a 9:00 p.m. dream feed), I ended up pumping it instead. I ended up having to add pumping sessions in order to keep my supply up, so you may have to do the same! Unfortunately pumping isn't as good at draining the breast as nursing, so if you're nursing less than before, your body may just think it doesn't need to produce as much. I'd suggest adding one (or MORE) pumping sessions to try to signal to your body to start making more milk!

Anyone? I also realized I posted this in the wrong place. Is there any way I can get it moved to pumping?

So, yesterday was sort of a stressful day. Lo had some mild constipation issues, weather, and I had to sing a big event last night and I haven't done anything like that since lo was born. Well, I was short an entire bottle yesterday. An entire bottle!!!!!!! I didn't have time to thaw out some frozen milk so I sent what I pumped this morning, which was a bottle's worth, but so far today I've only got 4 oz. that's it. If I counted the other bottle that's 9, but I'm worried my supply is dropping. :(

I'm just finishing up my period, but I didn't have any problems the last few days. I changed my membranes on the pump and I drank a ton of water between my last pump and the most recent one. Same output.

Lo is 6 mths old today (!) and started sleeping through the night. She's been loving her solids, but we've still been nursing.

Any tips? Anyone else had this happen to them? Was it the end? Did it come back?
