Probably VERY hard to do in this situation, but try to relax, rest, drink crazy amounts of water and eat well.

I had many BF problems as well and spent many, many days in tears over it (ultimately elected to exclusively pump) so I feel your pain. Just know that you are a good mom for trying this hard. There's also absolutely nothing wrong with supplementing with formula if you need to!!

I agree w pp's about not weighing your LO too often. Even adults weight can fluxuate day to day (trainers/dietitions suggest you don't weigh yourself daily for that exact reason).
Also, water water water water water. When I'm feeling a little low, I make sure to double my water intake the next few days.

I took fenugreek, blessed thistle and domperidone/reglan to increase my supply and it took 3 weeks. I went into oversupply with all of the supplements and quit the fenugreek and blessed thistle cold turkey with no drop in supply.

I would highly recommend getting a prescription for domperidone. I still take it now at 6 months pp.

Oh, and I agree with mungbean about the weighing. I bought a scale when LO was 6 weeks and I was getting so paranoid that he wasnt taking in enough so I returned it after 2 days.

I did a combination of constant pumping/nursing and More Milk Plus, blessed thistle, & fenugreek to bring up my supply. It took about two weeks to see a noticeable increase in milk.

I would also suggest not weighing your LO all the time... I ended up buying a scale b/c I was worried about my LO's intake, but I think worrying about daily weight fluctuations stressed me out & that affected my milk supply, too. Maybe you can try weighing LO every few days?

I hear your pain. BFing was really hard for me, my supply was always low. I took a combo of Fennel and Fenugreek, and drank mother's milk tea. The fennel and fenugreek helped a lot though. I got so bad though that I ended up getting a prescription from my Dr, and that helped the best.

Good luck!!!!!!

I haven't been around in awhile, but I am at home crying and trying to figure out what to do until I can get ahold of my lactation consultant. I have had major issues from the go bf'ing. I started taking fenugreek and power pumping and my supply finally came up. However, the last 2 days my supply has tanked.
At first I thought LO was just going through a growth spurt at the same time my milk regulated, but LO has lost 2 oz in the last 2 days.
I don't know what to do...should I start taking blessed thistle too?
