I left it in rice, and the water spot went away on the screen within a few days. My mom dropped her phone outside and it stayed outside overnight in a puddle in the rain. After putting it in rice, it still worked for a long time. It still worked. I bought rice immediately after and let it sit for 24 hours. It worked fine for 6 more months. It was only in for less than half a second and I got it out almost as fast as it was in, and immediately took the cover off and dried it. Then a half hour later (post bedtime so I could track it on my baby app) I turned it off and put it in rice. It seemed to be 100% fine though.</p> <p>Ugh. Is there a chance that this isn't going to damage something internally and cause a slow and painful phone death?!?! Years ago my DH's stopped charging due to "corrosion from water exposure" so my expectations are low but man it would be great if it ended up ok. </p>
