@Mrs Green Grass: It is!!! It's that mommy guilt. And all the hormone. =P I was also all worried since my supply dropped last week from my "friend" visiting (I posted about that), so that was really stressful.

I totally understand the conflicted emotions! But focus on amazingness of getting extra sleep!

My supply has been fine, but I still worry about it just about every minute of every day. It's exhausting!

@Bao: I think I will give giving up the midnight pump a shot and see how it goes. I was pretty engorged when I woke up after not pumping, so much that after DD's morning nurse session before work I still felt full but I imagine my body will adjust if I keep skipping the night session. =P

@brownie: I am so afraid to dreamfeed cause I'm in the boat of don't bother a sleeping baby - too afraid of waking her up and her not falling back asleep. =\

@littlek: I agree! BF is easy and pumping is a pain in a derrier...

@Thehistoryofus: That was my biggest fear! I was afraid altering my BF routine in any way would affect my supply and I'd lose my supply before actually making a decision to stop. The hard to let go thing is the reason I'm going to let DD self wean the morning/night nurse session - she's my baby and I love our little snuggle sessions.

@littleveesmommy: I had a really hard time letting go as well. I worked SO hard to get it to a year and I was so afraid to mess anything up! In the end I just took it at my own pace and let go when I was ready.

Awww, it's okay. I'm so over pumping and it's only been 6.5 months. Breastfeeding is so much easier.

Drop the midnight feed. Everything will be just fine. We did a dreamfeed because I refused to pump at home. That was much better for all of us.

It's ok...pumping is exhausting and a lot of work! She is still breastfeeding and you still have that bonding time. You could always see how it goes and if you are still upset about it in a few days/weeks you can start pumping again. Or you could compromise with yourself and just pump every few days.

DD is 10.5 months and aside from a week of formula supplementing when I was on a high dose of antibiotics for a stubborn (read - monthlong) case of mastitis, she's been EBF. I've been pumping twice a day during work and once at around midnight before bed. One thing - I HATE pumping. Nursing is great and I really enjoy our quiet time together, but pumping is no fun at all. Two night ago I was super tired and she went to bed later than usual so last nurse session was later than usual, so I decided to skip my midnight pump for the first time. Then last night I was chatting with DH and he said I should give myself a break with the midnight pumping. I get up for work at 6 and purposely stay up until midnight to pump, so I'm pretty much running on fumes everyday. I've got about 40 bags of milk in the freezer so even if my daytime pumps aren't enough for her while I'm at work, those will last well into my 1 year Bf goal.

I'd love to drop the midnight pump but I'm a little sad that she's already old enough for me to consider it. Any other moms get sentimental about dropping a nursing or pump session?

I'm hoping she weans from daytime BM by 1-ish but I'd continue to nurse her in the morning and night until she self weans. Omg ok I'm getting teary thinking she's turning one soon.......
