@MarieJ: i only pumped at work. i noticed that when i dropped to one pump at work from two, my body never adjusted because the pump removed all the milk from my breasts that was stored up from skipping the first pump. so my body thought it still needed to produce that much milk. my body adjusted much better (i.e. within 2 days) when i dropped nursing sessions. baby still removed the same amount of milk as usual, and the extra milk was left in my breasts, telling my body to stop producing as much. so maybe start pumping for less time at work?

we're not at that point yet (still 9.5 months), but when i was trying to increase my supply around 4 or 5 months, it took several weeks. i'm sure it varies from person to person, but based on my complete lack of knowledge :) i would say that 1.5 weeks after going from 4 to 2 doesn't sound too unusual.

I was pumping 5 times a day intially. Then I dropped to four and then I skipped dropping to three pumps and went directly to two pumps. I've been at two pumps for a week and a half and my body still hasn't adjusted. Any tips?

How long did it take your body to adjust?

& I think it might be harder to wean my daughter, because homegirl searches frantically for the boob...particularly at night. What gives! I've tried don't offer, don't refuse but I really wanted to be close to being done at 1 year. She turns one in exactly one week and I don't see that happening.
