We're going to have to drop the nap in September, when he goes to the afternoon preschool program. I am dreading it, because we wake him up on the early side and this is going to affect him greatly.

He still naps on the weekends and during the week now, he's also 3y3m.

DD stopped napping very early on. There was no change in her bedtime. It was already early, around 6 pm.

My DD dropped her nap at age 4, because she was about to enter Kindergarten. Her bed time didn't move up any because we just refuses to sleep any earlier. She does fall asleep in the car on the way home frequently, though! On weekends, we make her nap and she is able to do so, no problem.

charlie dropped his nap just shortly before he turned 4, and his bedtime definitely moved up. in the beginning he would pass out during storytime because he was so tired. but eventually their bodies adjust.

but often he doesn't get enough sleep at night so he will take one nap on the weekends to make up for it. (he turned 4 in december)

The nanny seems to think my 3 year old (3 years, 3 months) is dropping his afternoon nap. Most days now when I get home, he hasn't napped although he takes car naps on weekends. But he has been asking to go to bed really early, tonight he was tucked in by 6:45 pm!!

How old was your child when he or she stopped napping altogether and did his or her bedtime move way up?
