@Clementine12: Caveat that our 6mo has been a great sleeper from the start, but when we unswaddled at 4 months we had about a week of startling awake and then wanting to play all night. We have her in the sack with the bean bag on the chest—zen sack?—but I feel like it doesn’t do anything for her. It’s temporary, but I feel your pain for sure. Hang in there, and hopefully the zipadeezip helps.

@Jess1483: I ended up buying thr Zipadee zip on amazon because of this, plus it seems more lightweight and summer appropriate.

@kayla0416: I had the same experience with my oldest. I don't remember the transistion phasing her at all. I wish these products were cheaper for sure!

I'm going through this with my third right now and it's no fun. In my experience, it's probably going to be a tough transition no matter what you do. Also, if your baby is already a good sleeper, it will probably be an easier transition, and if your baby is a not good sleeper, it could be awful. So whether or not it's worth it to buy all these other sleep sacks totally depends on what your baby is like now and how much you're willing to spend on marginally better sleep, haha.

My first was an excellent sleeper. We used Halo swaddle sleep sacks, and she handled the switch to arms out perfectly, didn't phase her at all. My second was an AWFUL sleeper and a swaddle-lover. We used the Zipadee Zip and it took months for her to start sleeping decently. My third is somewhere in between. We've been using the Love to Dream Swaddle Up, so far with sleeves on. She went from one wakeup to two and is harder to get back to sleep after night wakeups, but it hasn't been terrible.

My 3rd son had one arm out for quite awhile before we transitioned for two and had a few bad nights of sleep, but we just powered through and eventually he got it. He was going through the 4 month sleep regression at the time so I just wanted it all over with at once.

@Clementine12: I used the Zipadeezip for DD (I didn't use anything for DS1 and used Merlin for DS2) and was really pleased. I love that you don't have to transition out of it, and they're safe rolling, sitting, and even standing in it.

But also, I think if there wasn't a lot of crying, you could let it be and she'd be back to sleeping in 2-3 days.

How old? I usually go to a transitional one before just being totally free. My 1st went into a Merlin, my 2nd a zipadeezip. My 3rd is 3mo now in a Love to Dream arms up and I’ll probably put him in zipadeezip at some point.

It is time to stop swaddling DD - she's been in a Halo swaddle. A few nights one arm out went fine.last night 2 arms out was hilariously awful. She chattered to herself all night and any time i put a pacifier in she tried to grab my hand to swing it around and play with her. She quickly pulled the pacifier out to play with it.

Ugh bad sleep night. She seems pleased about it.

What do i do? Is this temp so let it be? Not ready for 2 arms out? She's rolling over during the day...
