@twodoghouse: can you physically hold LO down until she goes to sleep? My LO used to wake herself up trying to crawl (even if she was dead asleep) so I would lie my torso over hers until she was back to sleep.

@hilsy85: Yes, definitely makes it more difficult! She quieted down so I'm going to sneak in in a minute and see what position she settled in.

We had the regression to end all regressions when she learned how to do this. Think 2 hours cumulative sleep a day from her.
I would just keep coming in and laying her down.... but it lasted probably a solid two weeks.

@twodoghouse: ah you have no video monitor?! oh man, that makes it tougher then! But I'm sure she's not going to launch herself out of the crib :)

@hilsy85: I don't think so. She's only 7 months and just recently figured out her new skill of standing in the crib. She can sit back down from standing but it's a little rough. This is the first time that I ever felt like we were really in need of a video monitor. I'm so worried that she's somehow going to get herself out of the crib even though she's tiny and the crib is all the way at its lowest level!

We had the worsssssst regression when he learned how to stand in the crib. It was like he was compulsively standing up, all night long and just wanted to party and stand for hours.

My husband and I took turns lying next to his crib and patting his mattress. Eventually he tired out and laid down. He did know how to sit down though.

We stopped lying him back down pretty quickly because he thought that was funny and treated it like a game.

Does she know how to lie down from standing? If not, I would continue doing what you're doing and lying her down every time you do a check.

After a couple times of laying her back down and saying it is Nite nite time, we just let her figure it out herself.

How do you manage to put your baby down drowsy but awake, or let them CIO, when they learn to pull themselves up in the crib? Alice was nearly asleep when I put her down, but she immediately rolled to the side of her crib and pulled up to standing. She keeps doing it and is crying pretty hard. Not sure what to do because she obviously isn't going to put herself to sleep if she's standing against the crib railing. I just keep pulling her off the side and laying her down in the middle of her bed. Will she eventually tire of it and stop? Any other tips?
