sudafed, cabbage leaves, ibuprofen (used my ibuprofen 600s from hospital), tight sports bras. I tried reducing pumps for a few days then went cold turkey and it hurt but I luckily did not have any infections or problems. still leaked for a week or two and wasn't prepared (hello wet shirt at the dentist). so be prepared !!

Omg, I just double checked and realized I bought the WRONG sudafed. I bought phenylephrine HCL tablets, and it needs to have pseudoephedrine... feeling like an idiot but hopeful buying the right stuff will help.

I've already tried the tea, peppermint, and sudafed though not consistently. I'm debating going in to get the tender boob looked at but I JUST had an ultrasound for a lump on the other side. I'm really hoping mastitis doesnt ruin any progress I've made.. I also wonder if this pain is from yeast. DS and I are both finishing up treatment for oral thrush. Aside from the ped's rec to put a few drops of nystatin on my nipples my boobs weren't treated, just my mouth.

Sudafed was what really worked for me. That and reducing the time I was pumping - gradually I reduced the time and dropped sessions. I went from pumping until empty, to only pumping for 1-2 minutes. Then I would drop a pump after getting it down to a shorter time. I had mastitis several times before weaning so I totally understand the fear. Good luck!

How do I do this? I'm 2 weeks pp and desperately want to dry up. I've got other things going on healthwise, and for that and other reasons want to ff. But it seems like spacing out the pumps (went from 6 to 8/9 hours over several days) has led to a sore boob and constant worry about mastitis. The nurse at my OB's office said I could go cold turkey, the doctor said probably don't since I seem to have anything that could go wrong, go wrong.
