Suggestions. Our LO has had some biting issues and I know how tough it can be. The good thing is that it is a stage. Just talk to daycare and make sure that they are shadowing your LO and then redirecting. Hang in there! Instead of "hugging our friends" I would say "use gentle touches". If its a space/territorial thing the last thing he probably wants to do is hug. </p> <p>We also stopped all mouth to skin even playing. I'm so sad that it was my child that bit another one at daycare. :sad: </p> <p>The director told me it was a territorial issue, he wanted to be where the other child was. They were watching them but it happened too fast they couldn't stop it. </p> <p>We are working on no biting at home, he has a tendency to bite us when he is playing, not maliciously though. He just gets excited and then bites. We tell him we hug our friends/mom/dad/whoever he is playing with and then try to redirect him. Is there anything else we should be doing? I know its probably just a phase but I want some more tools under my belt in case it starts to become an issue. Thanks! </p> <p>Oh, and he is 16 months old. </p>
