Yes, I have noticed my son eats better if I'm just carrying on with my own dinner!

when i nannied, the kids would eat sooo much better if i wasn't sitting there talking to them. i know it irritated the parents because i basically left them at the table (within eyesight) while i straightened up the kitchen, but that's what it took.

I'm not surprised, my DD seems to do everything better when I'm not watching or even in the room.

We do BLW, so he shovels food into his own mouth. Now, I might be imagining things, but I'm thinking that DS (11.5 months) seems to eat better when I'm not sitting there staring at him eating. When I'm sitting there, he tends to get this look in his eye before deciding to drop his food on the ground. It's like he's testing me, and while I'm calm on the outside, no lie, I'm irritated on the inside. At least if I don't have to watch him, it gives me time to clean or do something else while he eats. Anyone else encounter this strangeness?
