@travellingbee: yes, DS was exactly the same way. He was a year younger than your DS is but I was also expecting him to having trouble with grasping the whole belly to baby concept and surprisingly he had absolutely no trouble at all. He transferred the love from belly to baby with no issues.
I'm sure your LO will be an amazing brother!

We just told our almost 2.5 year-old son that there is a baby in Mama's belly and he is being so cute. He asks to kiss my belly, and he wants the baby to come out and play (I'm not due until June!!!). The other morning he was listing all the things he wants to do with the baby as well as teach the baby. My heart was melting! I hope he feels the same once baby is here!

C is almost 2.5 and she loves pulling my shirt up to look at the "baby". Once I showed here where the baby was moving and said something like "oh that's her foot". After that she started putting her hand on different spots in my belly going "and here's her little foot, here's her little head, here's her cute tush..." So cute. She is just as into the baby on the outside.

@travellingbee: Aw!! That's so sweet! I bet once the baby is here, his focus will be on the baby instead of your belly.

@travellingbee: I'm 38 weeks and my daughter is 2.5 and she is the same way! But it literally happened over the last two weeks, prior to that she could have cared less. She's also become more attached to a baby doll. We installed the infant car seat and she insists on having her baby doll ride there until the real baby comes. It's pretty cute!

My Ds1 is almost 3. I'm 39+ weeks pregnant. As my belly has gotten bigger he's gotten more excited about the baby and has become super attached to both me and my bump. He's never been super snugly but lately he is and he always wants to lay on my belly and see it under my shirt and rub it. He kisses it and says I love you baby. It's so adorable. I wonder if he'll miss my big belly! I have high hopes he'll be a good big brother although in sure there will be jealousy at times. Did any of your first LOs get so snugly and attached to the baby before birth?
