@lawbee11: thank you! I'll try the books and see how it goes...

@banana: & @Mrs.B: I'm tempted to buy this:

http://www.mybabyzoo.com/products/kids-alarm-clock-sleeptrainer-green-yellow

To let him know when it's time to wake up? But that might be a waste haha. I'm sorry your little boys don't sleep either. Also, I'm going to take him to the park and really wear him out...maybe he needs to be more tired?

I wish I could help but at almost 4 DS does the same thing. It gets exhausting. He is finally starting to grow out of it a little and has periods where he does not wake at night. I found that pushing his bed time back just made it worse. His Pedi had him on a sleep aid (herbal suppliment all natural) and even that didn't help. I hope your son grows out of it soon I know it's very tiring.

Oh man...that must be exhausting! My son is 2 years old and he sometimes wakes up a few times a night crying for me and it keeeeels me! We'll usually go back in and soothe him back to sleep. Lately though, he's been waking up several times a night crying hysterically. We think it's night terrors but who knows. We haven't found a solution for his night wakings. We just figure he'll outgrow it sometime. sigh.

@HeatherlovesKenny: A similar thing happened with my stepson. I believe he was 4 at the time. He would come into our room 2-3 times a night saying he needed us to put him back to bed. We ended up letting him pick out 2-3 books a night to put by his bed. We told him if he woke up in the middle of the night, he could look at the books until he fell back to sleep. I think part of the problem is that he was waking up and would try for all of 10 seconds to fall back asleep, and when he couldn't he would come get us. We also went to the dollar store and got some cheap little toys and made a "treasure chest." We told him that if he slept through the night without waking us up, he could choose one thing each morning from the chest. This worked and we haven't had a problem since!

DS has always been an early riser (between 5am-6am) and along with that he wakes up 3 times a night yelling for me. He asks to be tucked in again or for water or to have his fan on him even if it's not hot. How do I get him to stop waking up at night or waking up later? This morning he woke up at 4:30 and I can't.do.it. Neither can he, because he gets so grumpy and throws more tantrums. I tried pushing his bed time a little later and that backfires.

Meanwhile, DD who is 10 weeks old loves her beauty sleep and gets 12 hours a night without a peep! I'm so thankful for that or else if I was still waking up with both of them 5 or 6 times a night.
