@Mrs. Sunshine: our rooms share a wall so I can hear her crying plenty without the monitor. It's good and bad.

C was also up super early, even without accounting for dst. I nursed her forever then tried to get her to sleep in the bed with me (we have a bed in her room) and when she couldn't, put her back in the crib. She cried hard for five minutes then went back to sleep for an hour. But she's been doing this a lot lately- toddler sleep regression I think? When she woke up again Dh got her and I stayed in bed and slept.

Fun times all around.

LO has suddenly changes her wake up time this week from 715 to 5...I go in at 5. Soothe her for a few minutes, & lay her back down. She usually cries but I turn off the baby monitor, shut my door & set an alarm for 30 to 45 minutes (the amount of time I'm comfortable with her crying for) I sleep more & check on her when the alarm goes off. 90% of the time she's quiet when I check on her so I don't get her until 6 but if she's still crying I give in. I hate it but I refuse to allow her to get up at 5 am just because she knows I will play with her when she gets up.

Well, it was just a tease. I lost that battle. I've been laying on his floor for the last hour being a climbing toy and reading books. The bright side is that nap time can't be that far off if we've already been up two hours.

We've been up since 4:30 (5:30). We tried hanging out in the bed with some Daniel tiger on, but sister is wide awake this morning. We are getting up now.

Gah T woke up at 4:50 which is sometimes normal. A super early morning. Then I looked at my phone and realized it was actually 3:50!!! He's been up ever since. He had a short snooze in his swing but he's wide open. I'm so tired. Haha

Tell Blake to quit giving T ideas. Lol

@Mrs. Lion: Can't wait to do this when they can do things like turn on the light and bang on the door! I think he's starting to settle again. It dawned on me that I could put him in the swing and it would keep him sleeping for awhile, but that's where I put Alice after she just woke again. My baby-placement skills aren't so sharp at this hour. Maybe I'll try the rock n play and pray method.

Also, will be referencing this post the next time someone says "you make me want to have twins!"

@twodoghouse: I'm sorry. CIO doesn't bother me. I'm not sure why I'm so cold lol. M is sick and really needs sleep so I'm using that as my justification. He's now laying down and whining so I think I might win this battle. I hope things get better! Dang you DST! I'm not even sure what the point is

@twodoghouse: we only got him up because it was within his normal wake up window on a normal day and he was WIDE awake. I tried all of my "go back to sleep" strategies and failed. After a while of him banging on his door to come out we turned on his light so he could play with some toys, but by that point I was already awake so I figured I might as well get up.

@Mrs. Lion: I'm trying everything I can to get him back to sleep. I don't know how I'll manage if we're up for the day. I'm getting over the stomach flu at the moment too. Lovely!

@ladybee: If he (and me) were better at CIO I would totally put him in his crib and try it. Unfortunately I was awful at making him CIO because he sleeps fairly well when we put him down all the way asleep. So we'd usually do that while his twin was CIO. Oops. I have low supply and my boobs seem tapped out from nursing them all.night.long so DH just made him a bottle. He just ripped it out of his mouth and threw it on the floor. It's going to be an interesting day, haha.

@avivoca: @twodoghouse: we were up at 6:00 (now 5:00). We've had a bottle and are now crying it out. I treated it like a MOTN waking and he fell back asleep but is fighting it in his crib. Mommy doesn't start her days at 5:00 buddy, go back to bed.

Our lo was up at his earliest wake up time, plus the extra hour...so 4:15 over here (gah!) we just got him up for the day and will work on moving bedtime/wake up time gradually over the next week or so. Sorry you guys are dealing with this too!

@avivoca: They're conspiring against us! Ok he is starting to settle, although now Alice is getting in on the shenanigans. She must have realized he was getting extra cuddles and decided to wake up too.

I would act like its a MOTN waking.

ETA: the babies must have been talking. H fought bedtime for an hour and got up at 5:30.

Ok, quick - what would you do if your LO woke up at 5 am (which is now 4 am, thanks DST) and is super wide awake? Just get up for the day? Put him in his crib and see if he will CIO back to sleep? (We've been sleep training) Keep nursing him forever, or until it's an acceptable time to wake for the day?

Does it make a difference if he's a twin and his sister is still sleeping? (Keeping them on the same schedule makes a big difference in our days.) Does it make a difference if we tried to keep them up later to avoid this problem and as a result they woke up every 45 minutes from 9 pm to 2 am, then only recent slept a longer stretch of 3 hours? (AKA, mama is tired!)

Help me internet! What would you do?
