We didn't adjust our witholding. A lot of the benefits from having a kid (child care credit, etc) are phased out for us. :(

I did adjust, but not for additional dependents. I finally changed from single to married withholding. We are both presently having married/1 as our withholding. Our taxes are pretty straight forward and we will get a refund this year. We may change in the future. This past year we dealt with some unemployment and didn't want to be short.

I played with some settings last year and it didnt' seem to make a difference. I may ask a CPA to give us some advice this year though.

I have not thought about this. Before I had LO, our income was 60/40 with DH making more. Now, I'm not sure what to do as I only want to work part time.

Just out of curiosity since the IRS withholding calculator has been down since LAST MONDAY. Argh.

When you had your first kid, did you change your paycheck withholdings? And what was your income situation in terms of 50/50, 75/25 (one spouse bringing in more than the other, etc.).

We both work, but I make 75% of our household income and DH makes 25%. In our case, I'm not sure it will help us to adjust withholding, but I hope it will, because we're going to need every penny we can get once we start sending LO to daycare.

As far as the child care credit goes, we can only claim like $600 on next year's return according to the worksheet, so that won't really play into our decision.

Hoping the calculator goes up soon so I can figure this out and get it taken care of!!
