As far as I'm concerned, that's not pro-Jesus, that's anti-gay. I didn't respond to her comment because...well, because why. But I agree. You are in the public limelight. If you say something offensive, it's going to cause a reaction. We do watch the show, I enjoy the family &amp; the good clean humor of it, I do believe in freedom of speech HOWEVER I also beleive that you have to know what you say can have consequences, which is proven here. </p> <p>I think it would have been one thing when asked to say "I follow &amp; believe in the teachings of my religion which is..." and leave it at that. BUT it's when he compares homosexiality to beastiality that boils my blood, no need to take it there and insult people by comparing them to a digusting practive, because they are no where near the same thing. I'm not going to post a link because it's very easy to google and a ton of articles come up. </p> <p>The gist is that Phil Robertson (the patriarch of Duck Commander and the show Duck Dynasty) made some comments in a GQ interview comparing homosexuals to beastiality and adultery, saying it's against God and The Bible. There was obviously some backlash from the LGBT community and A&amp;E has suspended him from the show indefinitely. </p> <p>My FB newsfeed has blown up with people sharing articles outraged at A&amp;E's decision, that Phil was just stating his opinion, his constitutional right, and should be brought back. I can't stand it. The man made a VERY offensive comment, IMO, and A&amp;E has every right to say, "We don't agree with that, TS". He's in the public eye, on a popular show, of course there's going to be backlash! I mean, if I was spewing those kind of comments in my job, I would probably be fired too, or at the least reprimanded.</p> <p>Sorry if this has been discussed already. Bees, you can take it down and direct me to the appropriate thread if need be. :) </p>
