Update: My pumping output from LO's first day at daycare was 10oz (4-3-3) on the right and 0.5oz total on the left. I was hoping for a little more from the right but it's a start.

@SleepyMonkey: same here!

@corduroy: I had the EXACT same fear before going back tk work, but so far I'm producing enough to feed my LO and freeze a little!

yes, definitely. if you are only gauging how much you are pumping based on additional pumping sessions, then you will be pleasantly surprised by when you pump at work! i used to get an ounce if i pumped (both sides) after nursing, but at work i can pump 6-7 oz in a session. do not worry!

Hmm ... How long after her last feeding is that? Maybe check your pump parts to make sure they're all good ... Sometimes that makes all the difference! Also maybe try pumping a little after you feed during the day to trigger an increase in supply..

If I miss a feeding and pump I get more. Maybe twice as much? I don't think I'm an efficient pumper so I get a little less than I thought I would. It's really important to have a stash. Wish I had built more of a stash.

When you pump instead of nurse for a feeding do you get A LOT more milk than when you add an additional pumping session?

I exclusively pump the left but it's an underperformer since I almost let it dry up (total of 1oz per day). I'm going back to work soon 4 month pp I added a 10pm pumping session for my good boob a couple days ago. But I'm only getting half an ounce from that.

I'm getting nervous that I won't be able to pump enough when I go back to work. LO won't take a bottle (yet) so I can't skip a feeding and pump to see how much I get. Is it safe to assume I'll get A LOT more when she's at daycare?
