Personally, I put the chicken in at the higher temp and watch it like a hawk. but I am a rebel in the kitchen :)

I think it depends on the chicken, bones or not? My simple go-to chicken breast recipe (coat in olive oil, salt and pepper) cooks it at 400 for 25 minutes.

And NO, this does not make you sound like an idiot! It is not a simple answer at all :)

I'd cook at 350 so as not to dry out the chicken and maybe put the potatoes in a bit ahead of time!

You could bake the potatoes first, cover in foil and then bake the chicken separately. It does take awhile though. I usually put side dishes in my toaster oven and bake another dish in my regular oven.

It is more important for the chicken to be cooked at the right temperature than the potatoes!

@rahlyrah: This is exactly why I want a double oven, I hate this predicament. Do you have a toaster oven you can use for the potatoes? That's what I use to do until my husband took it for an extended job and didn't bring it home!

I would cook the potatoes first, then the chicken, and warm the potatoes with the chicken for the last 10 minutes or so.

I would cook the potatoes for 25 minutes at 400 and then turn the oven down and add the chicken (and leave the potatoes in there).

Please don't judge me, but I am a novice when it comes to cooking. I usually make the same things over and over but am slowly trying to branch out.

Tonight, I plan to make a chicken recipe along with @RainbowSprinkles red potatoes recipe. The problem is, the chicken calls for the oven to be 350 and the potatoes call for 400-450.

How do I handle this?

I know this makes me sound like an idiot.
