@grizz: great, thanks! I think I commented on your thread recently about nursing past one without pumping, so I guess we all have this topic on the brain. I can't believe they'll be one so soon!

Same age baby, exact same situation! I'll come back and add details when he's in a better mood :)

@Applesandbananas: thanks for sharing such a detailed reply! I'll look for your thread. I figured this was pretty common. I think psychologically it's a little tough to go from trying to save milk and build supply to using the freezer stash and ramping down.

Totally normal and I started a thread about how many people successfully nursed just morning/night and got an overwhelmingly positive response. I think long-term you'll be fine! :)

I was kind of in a similar situation. At 9 months, LO dropped his consumption at daycare from 12oz to barely 9oz. I pumped the same until 10 months (I was worried it was just a temporary decrease in consumption and didn't want my supply to go away if he was going to amp up to his typical 12oz. At 10 months, he dropped to 6oz because he'd stopped taking his last bottle of the day. At 10.5 months I stopped pumping entirely and fed him 2x in the morning and 3x in the evening and sent 6oz of bm.

We introduced cows milk at 11 months, just an ounce a day for a week, the 2 ounces a day for a week, etc. (I mixed it with frozen bm). He had some bm in his daycare bottles until his first birthday but then switched to all cows milk in sippies for daycare and it worked pretty well for us. He spat up a little at first but has since taken to cows milk like a champ.

We still nurse on demand when we're together and so far so good!

LO will be one in about 6 weeks. We've been EBF, and she's slowly nursing less. I started a new job a few weeks ago and have scaled back my pumping a bit, so we're running in a deficit for milk but I have freezer stash to make up the difference, plus we're going to try a little cow milk in the next few weeks. As I write this out it all sounds pretty normal, but I'm concerned if dialing back like this will impact our nursing longer term. I want to ditch the pump at one year but still nurse when we are together.

For LOs part, she doesn't really seem to care how much milk she gets these days when we're apart, so I guess she is getting enough.

Any thoughts?
