I think it would be great on regular carpet too, just make sure you are using the carpet attachment. I had/have the heavy duty Dyson one too, but it's so heavy that I give up vacumming just thinking about it. I just bought a handheld dyson and its the best purchase ive made in years. I now want a bigger dyson. We have a two story house with tile down stairs and carpet upstairs. I wsnt teo different vaccums for each floor but that seeks like over kill. So which do you girls have? </p>
