I love my kindle for a few reasons: it's so much easier for me to hold and read comfortably with and also as soon as I finish one book I can find another one quickly. My town doesn't have a bookstore so I would sometimes go months between books before I had my kindle!

I also love how easy it is to travel with.

I held off until my mom finally got me a Kindle, and I'm hooked. Lighter and compact and it "looks" like a paperbook. I was scared the screen would hurt my eyes after staring at a computer all day but that is not the case at all! So much easier to read on than my iPad.

I love paper books too much. I love how they feel in my hands, I love making notes in the margins, I love how they smell (and one of our cats smells like dusty old books, too, so that's an added bonus). I have to admit, I was tempted by the prospect of getting free classics on the Kindle, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to use an e-reader.

And if you get a Kindle, there are TONS of free books out there (most classics can be found for free!), and I think depending on what Kindle you get or if you have a PRIME membership, you have the ability to lend and borrow from the Kindle lending library.

@Bao: I felt the SAME exact way when I first debated about getting my Kindle, but I LOVE it. I still buy paper books sometimes, but it depends on the genre. If its fiction I almost always get the kindle version, but if it's nonfiction or something I think I'll go back through and reference (like most parenting books), I get it in paperback. The kindle e-ink technology is amazing and doesn't strain your eyes, and I think I read much faster on my kindle. I love being able to take one light device around and have a hundred books in my hand all at once. I hope you give e-reading a chance!!

Three Christmases ago my husband got me a Kindle- best gift ever! I have plenty of books that I will never give up, but I can happily read in either medium, and I love the portable convenience of the Kindle. I have the app on my phone, so I don't have to tote the book or the Kindle everywhere with me, and the Kindle never gets dusty like my favorite books do.

I love the e-reader (I have a Kindle). It's just so much more convenient to carry around one thing, especially when traveling. I also love that I don't have a ton of books collecting dust/taking up space when I'm done now. And I love that I can buy & download a book anywhere I am if I feel like it.

I could never switch to an ereader. I love books as much as I love reaching. I love having a library at home and collect vintage books. My DH got an ereader for Christmas and he is loving it.

I just love reading, and I've come to realize I don't care what the medium is. I got a Kindle a couple of years ago and it's awesome -- especially after moving about a million books half a dozen times over the years! I feel like it makes reading materials even more accessible, too -- if I want a book, I just push a few buttons and I have it. And I second @coacheswife123, it makes lugging reading material around so much easier, especially on trips.

I felt the same way but finally got a kindle and I LOVE it !! The thing I probably like most is that it weighs almost nothin so my wrist doesn't get tired when reading in bed! Also, i can throw it in my purse and it doesn't weigh me down!

I've been going back and forth between wanting an e-reader or not. I LOVE paper books, so I'm not sure if I could really make the switch. There's just something about an actual book in my hand that I love. Do you prefer an e-reader or an actual book? Why?
