We went after in 6 months, she had two busted ear drums cause she showed no signs of infections. I would ask the pedi for a referral in your case.

My LO had persistent ear infections as well. We went through two or three unsuccessful rounds of antibiotics then were referred to an ENT. LO had a hearing test and the ENT recommended tubes pretty much right away. She had them put in when she was around 9.5 months. It's been great. Her hearing improved immediately and although we've had a couple of infections since we're able to use ear drops now (so much better and more effective than antibiotics). Let me know if you have any other questions!

DS is almost 8 months old and has had an ear infection for 6 weeks. He's been on three rounds of antibiotics and I'm pretty sure it's not better yet :crying: - we go for a recheck Friday. He is still pulling and rubbing his ear.

I don't want to keep pumping him full of antibiotics especially since they don't seem to be helping, but obviously I need to do something.

At what point did you see and ENT or other specialist about ear infections? If you did go to a specialist was it helpful?
