Try a hot shower?

Your sinus cavities are connected to your ears so they typically feel pressure, too, when you're sick. Mine always do!

You can try doing a sinus massage or Vicks on the feet and socks also. I tried every remedy in the books when I was pregnant. I was continuously congested.

@Foodnerd81: that's good! When I was pregnant, I couldn't get enough spicy. I guess it just depends on the person. I'm glad the hot washcloth worked. It's so simple, but makes such a difference!!!!

@Jennimac: Spicy is out-- I'm pregnant and cannot handle spicy or the nasty burps that come after (sorry, gross). But I did the hot washcloth trick last night and it was awesome. Between the steaminess and the hot on my forehead it felt so nice. The congestion is better today but there is still a lot of tension in my neck, but still, step in the right direction.

@Foodnerd81: I lay with a hot wash cloth on my face. It helps opens the sinus and then allows everything to drain. I also eat something really spicy. I have bad allergies, so I'm also stuffed up.

@lawbee11: Yes-- I held one nostril, that must have been it completely! It felt so good for a second, until it felt worse. You are totally right though. At least I know how to avoid it next time (ie read the directions and follow them).

I've been using my neti pot the last couple of days because of congestion, too! (But I have the regular one, not the bottle.) I know the instructions say to blow gently and not to hold one nostril closed while you blow (maybe that was the problem?). When my ears feel clogged it always helps when I yawn...any way you could make yourself yawn??

@kjwinter: It has gotten much better, though my ear still feels clogged, just not painful. I wish there was some magic way to naturally drain all your sinuses and crap.

this has happened to me before, it will go way soon. I think it's from blowing your nose after, especially if you are very stuffed up- if you do it again blow VERY gently!!!!

I've had a sinus/tension headache for at least 3 days now, and I've been trying not to take medicine since I'm pregnant. I just used my neti pot (the sinus rinse squeeze bottle) as directed, like I've done before, but it was a little trickier since I'm congested. As I was gently blowing my nose after I felt the pressure in my ears kind of coming and going, and since then, I have kind of bad pain in one ear. Now it feels like I can't pop my ear.
Any clue what's going on? Has this happened to anyone else?
Also any preg safe headache remedies? I've been doing the laying down, dark room, ice pack on back of my neck and it's just not cutting it. Now the headache is just as bad but my ear hurts too. Yay.
