That's me 22 weeks now and still not predictable or regular. I think if I went a full 24 hours then I would notice but still no routine to the kicks.
The only thing I have become aware of in the past week is that s/he starts up properly around 3pm and starts to be peaceful again around 10pm. If only it stays like this :)

I felt the same way around that time. I would drink orange juice and ice water to try to get her to move. She was fine. I was just being crazy :)

@Honeygold89: Wow, that's pretty crazy to think about! It's finally starting to sink in that there's an actual little person in there, apparently with their own nap schedule.

Of course I'm eagerly waiting for regular movements to start, but I have a feeling I'll possibly take my words back during the 2 am dance parties! :grin:

Oh also my MW use to tell me that during the day you would feel less movement because you up moving around and pretty much rocking the baby to sleep bug mornings and nights you would feel the most movements. For me my LO would start moving around 7am then 2pm for a little then when I first lay down at night around 9 or 10pm and then when I was around 30 weeks he would have parties in there around 2am every morning lol

@Ms.Pumpkin: your ob won't ask you to count movements till much later on. So yes, still too early for regular movements. :)

I didn't really feel my LO1 till 23 weeks because of my anterior placenta!

@Honeygold89: Awesome, thanks!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: The positioning thing is actually a really good point- at the moment, I really have no idea if she's heads-up, down, sideways, etc. It'll be really interesting to see how she's positioned at our anatomy scan this week! I bet it really does make a difference in how you feel movement!

@Weagle: Haha, I was totally going to bring that up at my next appointment on Friday! But the increased movement in mornings & evenings is when I tend to feel the little movements, so that makes a lot of sense.

My midwife and I talked about this Thursday. I'm 23 weeks, and she said it would be totally normal if I weren't feeling regular movement now. She said early morning and evening are typical active times at this stage.

I didn't feel my first until 24 weeks, and at that point she was pretty strong and predictable. She was also breech with her back against mine the entire time!

With this baby, I started feeling movement around 14 weeks. It was random, inconsistent flutters that turned into real kicks by 16 weeks. I noticed a pattern by 18.

With that said, this baby rolls back and forth. She's also breech, but I only really notice her movement when she's for her back to mine. If she's got her back to my belly, her movement isn't as strong/prominent and I don't feel if as much.

I worried with my first...but it's totally normal to go days between feeling movement this early. I don't think I felt DD daily until 22-24 weeks.

When did your baby's movements become really regular and predictable?

I'm 20 weeks now, and started feeling little fluttery movements a week or two ago. While I'm generally feeling at least one twitch or flutter most days at this point, it's not really regular at all. I know that you're not supposed to be doing kick counts or anything until the 3rd tri, but how worried should I be that I'm not feeling super regular movement? Or that the past day or two, it's felt a little more "muffled" than it has been in the past?

Could it be that the baby's rolled over or something, and is now kicking somewhere I can't feel it?

So I'm pretty sure I'm worried over nothing, but being a FTM, you know how it is! :silly:
