I did the calculation myself when I got the second number, and I asked the nurse if that was kind of high. She said no it is normal. Four weeks later at my second scan at 8w pregnant we saw the second heartbeat. (At my first scan at 6w, we saw a second blob on the screen and my RE said it was probably my yolk sac. I knew at 5dpo I was pregnant because of how nauseous and icky I felt. I know people say you can’t “know” that early, but I seriously knew. I started having stomach issues at 3DPO and they only increased from there. My HCG also increased really quickly and was another clue there were two in there. I think my body leans to nausea easily, pregnancy or no. I had hyperemesis gravidarum with every successful pregnancy. Actually, the only exception was my twin pregnancy, and the lack of nausea surely contributed to not realizing I was pregnant until the miscarriage started (yikes, right?). </p> <p>I'm sorry you're feeling bad, and I hope you feel better soon. I will add that the usual recommendation to eat plain, high carb foods like crackers to quell nausea was totally counterproductive for me. My body just gets barfy and the slightest hint of pregnancy. It's unlikely that at this point you would have enough hormones in your system to cause any symptoms. I've been there - I did 8 IUIs and the two week wait is SO HARD! I’m only 3 weeks, 2 days and I’m feeling so nauseous already. Maybe it’s because I’m older. But I did have IUI with 4-5 mature follicles. So, twins is a possibility. 😬 </p>
